How this map was built

United Boeing 787-8 four-cabin layout (United Polaris lie-flat business, United Premium Plus premium economy, Economy Plus extra-legroom economy, Economy). Per-cabin split 28 Polaris / 21 Premium Plus / 36 Economy Plus / 158 Economy = 243 per the Wikipedia United fleet table (12 airframes; corroborated by the UAL FY2025 10-K mainline fleet count of 12 787-8s). This is the only 787-8 configuration currently flying — the "Elevated" interior retrofit (Polaris Studio suites) is being rolled out on the 787-9 first, so the 787-8 has a single active config with no First cabin. IMPORTANT — the ROW GRID IS DERIVED, not a placard scan: united.com is bot-blocked and competitor seat-map sites are prohibited. Class layouts (Polaris 1-2-1, Premium Plus 2-3-2, Economy Plus / Economy 3-3-3) plus the Polaris 180-degree flat bed (6'6" / 78 in), direct aisle access and 16-inch HD screen come from United's 2016 Polaris release; Premium Plus (2018 release) is a premium-economy recliner with more legroom/recline than Economy Plus, amenity kit and enhanced meal service. Row numbers, the Door 2 / Door 3 / Door 4 placements, the over-wing band and furniture are constructed to reproduce United's published per-cabin totals and abreast layouts and may differ from the actual airframe. Derivations: Polaris rows 1-7 (7x4=28); Premium Plus rows 9-11 (3x7=21); Economy Plus rows 12-15 (4x9=36, clean, no taper); Economy rows 16-33 (rows 16-32 = 17x9=153 full, row 33 reduced to the centre five seats by the aft galley/lavatories to reach 158).
