How this map was built

Service-status gate passed: SWISS's current long-haul fleet page, retrieved 16 July 2026, lists four A340-300s and says the type is used on ultra-long-haul routes. It publishes the sole current split as 8 First / 42 Business / 21 Premium Economy / 144 Economy = 215 seats. The assignment's 223-seat 8F/47J/168Y hint is the superseded pre-Premium-Economy layout: SWISS completed Premium Economy installation across all four A340s in 2023, and the current fleet page and V5 map show the 215-seat cabin. The complete row grid, staggered Business arrangement, paid Economy categories, limited-comfort seats, exact no-window list, exits, galleys and lavatories are transcribed from SWISS's official V5 map. Because the staggered drawing offsets centre and outboard units longitudinally, Business row membership follows the published sequence: alternating rows 6-12 and centre-only row 14 after the skipped row 13. Economy similarly uses offset blocks: the centre transitions to D/E/G in rows 42-45 while the outboard pairs remain A/B and J/K. SeatLink cabinSummary counts the map's 16 Extra legroom and 16 Legroom Economy positions as N and the remaining 112 Economy positions as Y, while SWISS groups all 144 under Economy. SWISS's A350s are planned to replace the remaining A340s in the longer term, but the current July 2026 operational page still shows the A340 active. Window alignment is unknown except for 8A and 8K, which the official map explicitly lists as having no window. Absolute pitch for the map's Economy Extra legroom and Legroom categories is unpublished and therefore omitted.
